Madam ZHANG Dan, Vice President and Director-General of UNA-China, headed a delegation including Ambassador LIU Xinsheng, Board member of UNA-China and member of the Advisory Committee of UN Human Rights Council, to attend the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) held in LUISS University in Rome during 12 to 14 July. The 2018 Annual Meeting, with the theme of “Human Rights, Migration and Global Governance”, consisted of 3 plenary sessions and 55 panels. Over 200 experts and scholars from UN agencies, universities, think tanks and NGOs attended the meeting. Madam ZHANG was invited to be a guest speaker at the Panel on “Enhancing Asian Contributions to the UN PKOs”.

The 2019 Annual Meeting of ACUNS, with the theme of “the UN and Africa: Progress Towards Achieving the SDGs” will be held in Stellenbosch University in South Sudan, 19-21 June, 2019.
