President Lu Shumin Met with President of UNA-Mauritius Rashad Daureeawo
?On July 21st 2015, Ambassador Lu Shumin, president of United Nations Association of China (UNA-China), met with Ambassador Rashad Daureeawo, president of United Nations Association of Mauritius (UNA-Mauritius), who was in Beijing attending the International Seminar on the 70th Anniversary of the United Nations¡°The Seventy Years of UN: Mission, Responsibility and Future¡± co-hosted by UNA-China and Chinese People¡¯s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA). Vice-president and Director-General Mr. Liu Zhixian and UNA-China secretariat were present in the meeting.

Ambassador Daureeawo expressed his gratitude to UNA-China and CPIFA for the invitation to the Seminar. He referred to the seminar as successful and significant. He said that China always took concrete actions to support developing countries and played an important role in the United Nations. He also pointed out that UNA-Mauritius had already been founded for 40 years and it was very active in the country despite the small size of the organization. He hoped to establish a long-term bilateral exchange mechanism with UNA-China.
President Lu Shumin appreciated the participation and active performance of Ambassador Daureeawo during the Seminar. He indicated that UNA-China would be willing to strengthen the ties with UNA-Mauritius and promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
