Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations, the United Nations Association of China and Mr. Chen Yunxian, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province sent letters of congratulation to the CNMUN 2013. Ms. Zhang Xiaoan, Vice-President & Director-General of the UN Association of China, Mr. Zhong Weihe, President of the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Mr. Ren Yisheng, Counsellor of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Mr. Zhang Zhihua, Vice-Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Committee of Communist Youth League of China, Mr. Geoff Bowan, Counsellor of the Australian Embassy in China, Mr. Bonian Golmohammadi, Secretary-General of World Federation of United Nations Association and Ms. Julie Broussard, Country Program Manager of the UN Women China Office attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Mr. Chen Shiqiu, Vice-President of the UNA-China, Mr. Shi Youqi, Vice-President of the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Ms. Natasha de Sliva, Deputy Director of the International Programs Unit within the Australian Human Rights Commission attended and addressed the closing ceremony.

The three-day event simulated the 57th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, with the theme on ¡°Elimination and Prevention of All Forms of Violence against Women and Girls¡± and three topics, namely, ¡°Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls¡±, ¡°Multi-sectoral Service and Responses for Violence against Women and Girls¡± and ¡°Key Gender Equality Issues to be Reflected in the Post-2015 Development Framework¡±.
