CESCR Experts Discussion Meeting Was Held

The Discussion Meeting of Experts on International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) was held in UNA-China on 16 July. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Zhang Xiaoan, Vice-President & Director-General of UNA-China. Three CESCR experts, Mr. Jaime Romero, Mrs. Maria Riera and Mr. Zdzislaw Kedzia, Amb. Cong Jun, Amb. Zhan Daode and 14 officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, All-China Women’s Federation and the State Ethnic Affairs Commission attended the meeting.

The meeting was held to brief to the CESCR experts on China’s execution of CESCR in order to prepare for the deliberation of the second CESCR Execution Report of China next year. Officials from related ministries gave detailed introductions?to China’s execution from the perspectives of legal system construction, social security, employment, sanitation, education and the protection of the rights if ethnic minority groups etc. and answered questions of the experts.??
