In his speech, Amb. Lu Shumin emphasized that China, Japan and Republic of Korea are neighboring countries, sharing common cultural traditions and a long history of interactions. The three countries created their own economic miracles in the second half of the twentieth century. And now, they have shared dreams in pursuit of further development. However, historical and territorial disputes still remained unresolved. If the three countries wanted to create new development miracles in the globalizing world, concerted and collective efforts were needed at regional and global levels, with aim to build a safer, more secure and prosperous world. In this regard, the youth in the region deserves full attention and support. Amb. Lu called on the youth to play an active role in enhancing the understanding and communication among peoples in the region and in harnessing science and technology to solve the challenges.
