Report on Human Rights Knowledge Training Class 2013
Human Rights Knowledge Training Class 2013 was successfully held on June 15 and 16 in Beijing, China. The class was sponsored by Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC), hosted by the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China) and organized by China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU). 127 participants from 107 universities across China took part in the class, among whom 69 are female, 58 are male, 65 are from universities in the middle and western regions and 62 from the eastern ones. Of the 127 participants, 6 are ethnic minorities and 13 are faculty advisers. 25 out of the 107 universities took part in the training class for the first time. The training class covered five topics, namely human rights work of the UN and the cooperation between China and the UN in human rights, UN Commission on the Status of Women, rules of procedure of Model United Nations (MUN), introduction to China-Australia Human Rights Technical Cooperation Program (HRTCP) and the visit of UNA-China delegation to Australia, and preparation on the 10th China National Model United Nations Conference (CNMUN).
