On 6th May, the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China) and Beijing International Studies University (BISU) jointly held the first National United Nations Knowledge Contest for College Students. Amb. Lu Shumin, President of UNA-China, Mr. Nicholas Rosellini, UN Resident Coordinator and Mme. Gu Xiaoyuan, Party Secretary of BISU, attended the Opening Ceremony. Mme. Zhang Dan, Vice-President and Director-General of UNA-China attended the Closing Ceremony and made remarks as well. 17 teams from 15 universities participated in the Contest. During the Contest, a seminar on UN education was also held.

After intense competition, the Beijing Language and Culture University team won the Outstanding Prize. The teams of Chinese University of Political Science and Law and University of International Relations won the First Prize. The teams of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Xi'an International Studies University, Zhejiang University, China Foreign Affairs University and Qingdao University won the Second Prize.
