??? On Oct. 13, Ms. Liu Hua, Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China) attended Peking University National Model United Nations Forum for Faculties and Team Leaders 2012 and delivered a speech entitled “ Stories of Diplomats”.

??? During the speech, with over 20 years’ experience as a diplomat and through some vivid examples, Ms. Liu gave a detailed introduction to the participants about the work and life of diplomats. She gave emphasis to the four qualities needed for being a good diplomat, namely, love for and dedication to the country, spirit of forwardness and innovation, domestic and global perspective, combination of principle and flexibility. She also emphasized the irreplaceable role of the United Nations (UN) under the new circumstances and the cooperation between China and the UN. When talking about Model United Nations (MUN) activity, Ms. Liu spoke highly of the progress made during the past several years and made some suggestions for its future development. Ms. Liu also gave a detailed introduction to the work of UNA-China at the end of the speech. During the interaction session, Ms. Liu answered some questions from the participants. ?

Peking University National Model United Nations Forum for Faculties and Team Leaders 2012 is a preparatory meeting for Peking University National Model United Nations Conference for High School Students 2013（PKUNMUN2013）. The forum was hosted by Peking University and organized by the Model United Nations Association of Peking University. More than 200 faculty advisors and heads of MUN associations from high schools across China participated in the forum.
