From 14 to 21 July, the 14th China International Civil Servants Capacity Building Program was held in Shanghai. The program was hosted by the United Nations Association of China (UNA-China), supported by the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DIOC, MFA), the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (DIC, MOHRSS), and organized by the East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL). It attracted about 300 participants from over 140 universities and institutions.


Vice-President and Director-General of UNA-China Ms. Hu Wenli, Minister of DIOC at MFA Mr. Jiang Duan, Level II Bureau Rank Official of DIC at MOHRSS Mr. Jiang Wei, and President of ECUPL Mr. Xiao Kai addressed the opening ceremony. They stated that as changes unseen in a century are accelerating in a turbulent world, the international community expects the United Nations to play a greater role in global governance. They urged all trainees to study the knowledge of international organizations such as the United Nations and China’s foreign policy. They encouraged the trainees to improve their professionalism and comprehensive capabilities, and contribute wisdom and strength to the enhancement of global governance.
