The 2016 Human Rights Knowledge Training Class Held with Great Success

On May 5 – 8, 2016,the 2016 Human Rights Knowledge Training Class was held in Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. About 24o students from 78 Colleges and Universities attended the Class.?

Amb. Lu Shumin, President of the UNA-China attended the opening ceremony and unveiled the plaque for the Yunnan Model UN Association. He also gave a lecture on The Current International Situation and China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

Mr. Liu Zhixian, Vice-President of the UNA-China, Ms. Bronwyn Elizabeth Byrnesof the Australian Human Rights Commission, Ms. Alana Maurushat, professor of the University of New South Wales, Mr. Wang Jianwei from the OPCW and experts from the PLA Information Engineering University and Yunnan University of Finance and Economics gave lectures on UN disarmament, anti-terrorism and human rights, Internet security, cracking down on drug-related crimes and reducing weapons of mass destruction. Vice-President Liu Zhixian had a panel discussion with students from the MUN team of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics.

The Human Rights Knowledge Training Class is a program under the framework of the China-Australia Human Rights Technical Cooperation Program ?and has been held for six years in succession.
